What will I be doing?

As a Line Cook-Level 2 with The Hilton Fallsview you will be responsible for preparing food items in accordance to recipes and established standards including but not limited to basic sauces and sauté items. The Line Cook-Level 2 will assist all other Team Members with basic preparation of food items while adhering to quality standards. This Team Member will also adhere to the standards of the Executive Chef and use correct handling of all food products. The Line Cook-Level 2 is required to maintain their work space, including counter tops, utensils, equipment in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with company policy and Health and Safety standards.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a Line Cook position for a fast paced/high volume restaurant 

 

Skills

  • Food Handling Certificate is an asset (not a requirement)
  • Requires food knowledge pertaining to pantry/prep, and sauté
  • Knowledgeable in safe handling practiced when using sharp knives, utensils and hot plates.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a high volume restaurant
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well within a Team

 

Requirements

  • Required to provide a certificate proving completion of the Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers (e-course provided by the Ministry of Labour)
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays)
