What will I be doing?

The Marketing Assistant/Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Marketing Department, while also focusing on creating and updating marketing materials for media, including social media and web sites (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram).This role requires both the ability to work independently and with other Team members, completing a wide variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the department. This Team Member will be responsible for general marketing administration as directed by the Department Director, and coordination of internet marketing through social media while adhering to Hilton Brand Standards, and Accessibility Guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Director of Marketing and supports the marketing team administratively
  • Assists/Coordinates production and collation of marketing materials and literature
  • Researches and writes professional articles, promotional campaigns, media releases
  • Responsible for ensuring sales and marketing content is valid, current and accurate
  • Delivers content via social channels (ex: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Foursquare, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, Linked In, blog)
  • Uploads marketing material to online libraries, internet groups and Social Media websites
  • Creates, delivers, edits, and optimizes database materials, including print and web
  • Loves that Social media doesn't keep business hours and keeps pulse on industry trends
  • Finds the constant interaction and responses to be fulfilling- personally and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Social Media Strategy or Business Administration
  • Professional experience with Social Media Marketing, web maintenance and SEO
  • Strong knowledge of Mac and Microsoft, Desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills particularly good copy writing, preferably in a technical/ scientific context
  • Attention to detail, organization with ability to meet multiple project deadlines
  • Projects product awareness and understanding the need of the customer
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a current work visa or permit. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
