Job Description/Summary:

 

THIS IS A FULL TIME, YEAR-ROUND SALARIED POSITION

 

As a Banquet Manager, you are responsible for managing and directing the Banquet and set-up staff to provide a high levels of guest service, satisfaction and ensure proper staffing levels to meet demands of business. This role would report directly to the GM and AGM.

 

Management responsibilities include, FOH Scheduling, Inventories, Catering Supply Ordering, Knowledge Audio Visal and assisting in monitoring all maintenance issues.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, discipline of front of the house personnel

-The primary focus is on all aspects of onsite Catering Food Services.

-Ensure maintenance and appearance standards throughout the Facilities

-Identify, hire, train, and retain staff for all banquet and event services

-Oversee departmental scheduling to meet budgeted guidelines.

-Inventory and cost responsibilities for liquor, beer, wine and catering supplies.

-Supervise & lead all front of the house set-ups, break-downs, & event preparation.

-Maintain exceptional levels of customer service

-Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement

-Evaluate individual events and develop a strategy to make service and operational improvements

-Optimize sales and contain costs, while identifying any areas for needed attention and organization

-Maintain good communication & work relationships in all areas both internal and external

-Ensure staffing levels meet business demands

-Ensure ongoing training is progressively carried out weekly and monthly

-Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated

-Manage staff performance & daily responsibilities in compliance with company policies & procedures.

- Review and good working knowledge of menus

- Supervise the buffet and station decoration

 

Miscellaneous

-Attend Weekly Staff Meetings

-RAMP certification compliance and staff training

-Participation in short- and long-term planning of Banquet goals and objectives

-Provide budget and capital expenditures input

-Maintain Compliance and Enforcement of company policies and procedures

-Maintain confidentiality of club handbook, procedures, corporate documents, and finance   information.

-Responsible for reporting accidents using the proper procedures.

-Any duties over and beyond otherwise directed by the General Manager.

-Review website on a periodic basis to ensure it is current

-OSHA -- work with GM to ensure 100% compliance

-Health Department -- meet with area inspector as needed and follow up on all recommendations/requirements to ensure 100% compliance.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Four years related experience or training or relevant combination of education and experience. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Caterease
