Description

The Banquet Set-Up is primarily responsible for the set-up and break down all meeting rooms, banquet space and ballroom areas. Clean and maintain all corridors, vending areas, elevators and landings and service areas in the banquet facilities ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness. Must provide prompt and courteous service to guests during banquet/catering functions. May need to assist servers in serving menu items if business dictates. May handle incoming/outgoing boxes and exhibit materials. Perform other duties as assigned. The Banquet Set-Up will report directly to the Banquet Management staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General knowledge of banquet operations preferred.
  • Must have excellent guest service skills (Previous guest service experience is required).
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisor. Must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight.
  • Candidate must be comfortable with guest interaction and provide great guest service.
  • The ability to deal with internal & external guests with a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be guest service focused and understand expectations of hospitality demands.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays.
  • Successful candidates will have excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Must be a team player and exude friendly demeanor/personality. 

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing a minimum of 100 pounds (tables, chairs, trays, equipment, etc.)
  • Moving about the function areas.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling.
